Embedded Systems and Power Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an Embedded Systems and Power Engineer to join our Software & Platforms division at TBP Solutions, Nigeria. In this role, you will build real-time AI-powered monitoring systems for critical assets in power and bandwidth-constrained environments, and develop smart embedded power management systems for sustainable energy solutions. You will work on deep-tech projects that require innovative approaches to energy efficiency and edge intelligence.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop embedded systems for real-time AI-powered monitoring of critical assets in power and bandwidth-constrained environments.
• Develop smart embedded power management systems for sustainable energy solutions.
• Optimize firmware and hardware for low-power operation and reliable performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensors, communication modules, and AI models.
• Conduct testing, validation, and debugging of embedded systems in field conditions.
• Document designs, specifications, and test results.
• Contribute to system architecture and technology roadmap for embedded solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in embedded systems development.
• Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming (3+ years).
• Experience with low-power embedded system design (2+ years).
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex, ESP32, STM32 (3+ years).
• Knowledge of power electronics and power management circuit design (2+ years).
• Experience in firmware development for real-time systems (2+ years).
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI/ML model deployment on edge devices.
• Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (LoRa, BLE, Wi-Fi).
• PCB design and layout (Altium, KiCad).
• Experience with solar energy systems or battery management.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols and cloud integration.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD for embedded systems.
